Rush Residential Named 2025 BIAW Builder of the Year

We’re honored to share that Rush Residential has been named the 2025 Builder of the Year by the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW), a statewide recognition celebrating leadership, craftsmanship, and community impact.

Because this award comes from fellow industry professionals, it means a lot. BIAW represents more than 8,200 member companies across Washington, and to be nominated and selected by peers is a humbling reminder that how you build matters, especially how you show up for people along the way.

While the award was presented to Scott Walker, VP of Rush Residential, this recognition reflects an entire team and the trade partners and collaborators beside us, working hard to do things the right way for homeowners and for our communities.

The Work - and the People - Behind the Recognition

At Rush Residential, we’re proud of what we build but we’re even more proud of how we build. Our culture is rooted in commitment, resourcefulness, integrity, and well-being, values that guide decisions on the jobsite, in the office, and in every homeowner interaction

In 2025, that focus translated into real outcomes: Rush Residential had 74 homes under construction and proudly delivered homes to 51 families, each one shaped by close collaboration across design, construction, sales, and customer care.

Building a Place to Work we're Proud of

That same people-first approach extends beyond the homes we build. In 2025, The Rush Companies was ranked the #2 Best Workplace in Washington State by the Puget Sound Business Journal (Midsize Company category, 50–149 employees). We see that recognition as a reflection of Team Rush, because when people are supported and empowered, it shows in the work and in the experience we deliver

Building Communities with Purpose

Rush Residential has previously been recognized locally by the Master Builders Association of Pierce County, and this statewide honor builds on that foundation. It reinforces our purpose: to create communities in the Pacific Northwest with homes that will delight families for generations.

Standing before industry peers to accept this award was a proud moment and a reminder of the responsibility that comes with it. We’re committed to keep raising the bar, staying grounded in our values, and showing up for the people and communities we serve.

Scott Walker, Vice President of Rush Residential shared: “While my name may be on the plaque, this recognition is for all of us at The Rush Companies and Rush Residential. It isn’t possible without the leadership and support each of you bring every day to the relentless pursuit of helping families pursue their dreams of both homeownership and building lasting memories in our communities. I was humbled and honored to represent us as a team.”

Looking Ahead

We’re grateful to BIAW and to our peers across Washington for this honor. Most of all, we’re grateful to the Rush Residential team, whose dedication and care make this recognition possible.

This award belongs to all of you - it motivates us as we continue building homes, communities, and a workplace we’re proud of.
