Shawnna’s Design Philosophy

From Gardens to Great Rooms

Shawnna began her career in accounting-related roles, but a love of gardening sparked something more creative.

After becoming a Master Gardener in 2007, Shawnna discovered how much she loved bringing colors, textures and individual elements together to create something that felt intentional and beautiful.

That passion eventually moved indoors.

In 2011, Shawnna earned her Associate Degree in Interior Design, launching a career that has included:

Owning her own design business
Working with custom home builders
Eight years in the floor covering and surface industry
Helping homeowners make countless finish and design decisions

Now serving as Senior Designer for Rush Residential (lucky us)

Pre-Sales

Pre-sale buyers begin by selecting their homesite and home plan but the experience goes much deeper than choosing a floor plan.

If needed, Shawnna will help you explore the available home-plan configurations and consider which structural choices best support how you live today and how your needs may change in the future.

From there, she will guide you through the available interior design and personalization selections, helping you bring together a home that feels cohesive, functional and uniquely yours.

Joining Us During Construction

Purchasing while construction has begun

Joining us after construction has started? You will still receive a personal design meeting tailored to your home.

Shawnna will introduce you to the home, walk you through the design decisions already made and help you understand how the spaces, finishes and features work together.

If there are selections or personalization opportunities still available, our team will go the extra mile to accommodate them within the remaining construction schedule.

Because every home progresses differently, the selections available will depend on the stage of construction at the time of purchase.

Choosing a Move-In-Ready Home

Homes 45 days away from completion

A move-in-ready home has already been thoughtfully designed, but your design experience does not end there.

Shawnna will walk you through the finishes, features and design decisions selected for the home. She can also help you think through furniture placement, room function and how to make the spaces work for the way you live.

You will leave with a better understanding of your new home and ideas for making it feel like yours from the moment you move in.
